Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

Below I will post the questions I get from my visitors regarding the Buying And Selling Websites training course. The answers posted below are the emailed responses by to these questions. The names have been edited out for privacy reasons, however I thought if other people had these questions, maybe you do as well.

Question: It seems as though there's two strategies: Either create a site from scratch then sell it, or buy a site and improve it and resell it. The second option seems much faster and more profitable, but more limited to people with money to invest. Will you be teaching both?

Answer: YES, I'll be teaching both methods.  The main reason why, is because of the vast differences between the students' experience levels and amount of capital to get started.  I agree the buy/resell is a MUCH more profitable method, but not everyone can afford to buy a website. I'll have to teach a "no money down/little money required" method for those who need it, even though it's a much slower process.

Question: Will your course be practical, in the sense that you'll be giving actual steps for the students to follow and do as you go along?

Answer: YES, the class will be purely practical, based on the exact steps I take. I hate theory type courses because most of the time the theory just won't work in reality. I've successfully built/bought/sold more than 50 websites in the last 5 years, ranging from $500 each to our most recent sale of $575,000.  In my early years, the deals typically averaged between $2,000 and $10,000 per website.  The last two years, the deals have been over $50,000 each, so I have the real life experience to teach the full spectrum.

Question: I have a full time day job and I only have about 2 hours a day during weekdays to work online, so maybe 20 hours a week realistically. Would that be enough time to take the course? In fact do you think someone can run a successful website business at all part-time?

Answer: YES, my plan is to keep the course short and to the point, and also much of the class will be available as an MP3, so you could even burn the recordings to a CD or on an Ipod and listen to them to and from work.  The lessons themselves should take less than 30 minutes per day to go over. Twenty hours per week is plenty of time to put into an internet business, assuming those 20 hours are spent focused and productive.

Question: You mentioned that the class runs 3 weeks.  Is that 21 days of lessons? 15 days?

Answer: It will likely be 21 days of lessons.  If I need to go longer than that to get everyone's questions answered, then I might extend it to more than 3 weeks. My main goal is to make sure the students get a full understanding of this business, regardless of how long it takes. Students will have access to the full class for at least 12 months after the 3 week class ends, so there will be plenty of time to go back and review everything if need be.

Question: I work during the day, so will I miss the classes if I'm not available during the day?

Answer: No, there won't be any "live" classes you must attend.  Instead, I will basically be posting recordings/written lessons throughout the days of the course, so you can follow along at your own pace.

Question: Maybe I'm too skeptical, but if something is working for you, why would you share it?

Answer: As I'll explain in the class, there literally is no such thing as competition in this business.  There is an endless supply of website buyers out there, assuming you have a "good" website to sell. Developing a good website is what I'll be going over in this class. There are thousands of people buying and selling websites each day, so I don't think by me teaching 20 or even 2000 people how to do it will make much difference in the market overall.

In addition, by teaching a class like this, even though I will be giving away all my secrets, I can also benefit as well. The tuition price isn't very high, so the income from that is minimal, but by teaching people what I do, I'll get to meet other people with similar interests.  My partner and I are always looking for good websites to buy, so we may eventually buy a website from one of my students.  Or, I could even help the students sell their sites by being as their broker, helping them negotiate a higher sales price, etc.

I guess I just see the bigger picture and all the opportunity that exists in this market. I would like to think of the students in the class more like future partners than as customers.

Keep sending in these great questions and I'll keep posting the responses on this FAQ page for everyone else to benefit as well...
