is it possible that the seller buy his own domain?
  • Ok, this question may be weird, but i found a site when doing some study at flippa , in "just sold" section

    http://flippa.com/auctions/100438/site

well, needless to say, it look quite useless for anyone want to buy it

and the bidder bid it first time fo 500...wtf???

so can anyone explain this, is it really that someone willing to buy this site first time for 500 buck, or just a trick to get more ppl involve , but then fail to get more bid...?

Of course its possible that some one is "shill bidding" (having others place bids for him or doing it himself). However I've seen stupid sites sell for ridiculous prices thanks to ignorant buyers.

  • Not entirely sure to be honest. Looks like the seller joined, listed, sold and completed the listing all in one day (join date and last activity are the same).

I would guess it was a fake account bidding with no intention of paying. Happens a fair bit on Flippa, unfortunately. Either that, or there's something going on between the scenes that I can't work out.
