• I'm looking to sell a site and was wondering if its still safe to use PayPal for receiving payments.

I'm pretty sure the site will go for over $3,000

  • If safety is a concern, I'd recommend using a service like escrow.com or use a wire transfer. Paypal is safe to the extent that you trust the buyer. There is the possibility that the buyer could dispute the charge after you've given them access to everything. You might want to look into sending the money as a gift on Paypal because that can reduce some of the risk as a seller.

That's what I was wondering, if having the money sent as a gift would be better as a seller. I might go this route.
  • Technically it's a grey area because it's not really a gift or even a personal transfer and you do run the risk of paypal shutting down your account if they find out. I just want to make sure you're aware of the risks on both sides.
