Day 4 – The Ant Quick Startup Guide

Step 1: Add Content to Site

This should be a simple process if you have built sites before.  Add all the articles, content, pictures etc. to the pages and posts within WordPress.

Step 2: Optimize Pages for SEO

Use the SEO Plugin with WordPress to optimize every page / post you add to the site.  Optimize each page with no more than 5% keyword density.  (The keyword/phrase should be less than 5% of the entire page content.)  No keyword stuffing or writing unnatural flowing content just get get a bunch of keywords in.  It doesn’t work and you’ll likely be penalized by search engines.

Other on page SEO tactics include using Headings (H1 to H5) tags with the key phrase within the heading.  Again, don’t over do it.  Include links to internal pages through your site that are relevant to the content and a few links to outside pages (No follow of course).  Last, use images with the key phrase in the file name.

Of course there a plenty more items you can do for on site SEO and should.  This course is not meant to provide all the details of this process.  We just want you to get the site up and running and ready to sell.

Step 3: Create Money Page

Use your research in Day 1 training to pick the best method for monetizing the site and one that will easily sell.  A lot of website buyers are looking for a hands off approach to the sites they buy.  An ad site, drop ship site, membership or affiliate site all have benefits to a hands-off approach and are currently selling well, with high multiples.  You’ll have a lot of buyers bidding for this type of site.  The more buyers/bidders the higher price you’ll get.

There are plenty of online courses and training videos you can buy that teach how to best set-up your money page (the page you look to convert a prospect to a money transaction for you).  In some cases if you generate a lead, you can make money on that lead.  In other cases you need the prospect to buy something right on your site.  The key here is to have two rotating money pages that you test at all times.  By doing so you’ll continue to improve one of the most important metrics in owning websites “Conversion %”.

Day 4 – The Dolphin Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Find Places With Sites for Sale

If you’re not yet a Premium member able to use the tools for searching for websites, go to our article on Top Places to Buy and Sell Websites.  Here you’ll find a complete list of the top sites for buying websites.

The goal in searching these sites is two-fold.  One, find out what’s available and for what multiples based on the niche and type of monetization of the sites. You’ll learn a lot by tracking what sites are going for.  Second, pay attention to what the asking prices are and the multiples based on the site where they are listed for sale.  For example, you may find on Flippa.com, one adsense site in the health niche listed with $1,000/month in revenue and the multiple is 15 x monthly or an asking price of $15,000.  Whereas, you may find another site within the same niche and revenue listed at 25 x monthly or an asking price of $25,000 if listed on a broker site.

This is very helpful for knowing where its’ best to buy sites and where to sell them.  Traditionally the best place to sell sites for the highest multiple is with a broker or a business broker website like bizbuysell.  However, if you are dealing with smaller priced sites you may find it better to post them for sale on Flippa (as long as you didn’t buy the site on Flippa) or with another auction site.

Step 2: Go to Buy-A-Website Finder and Build Search System

As a premium member you have access to the Buy-a-Website Finder.  This tool doesn’t just list all the website auctions with Flippa, but it also provides a compact view of every site with an easy way to sort and see what’s available.  In addition, you’ll get all the details of the site including: How the site is generating revenue, whether through Product Sales, Affiliate Revenue or Ad Revenue.  You also get a quick screen shot of which networks the site is listed with and their Compete, SEMRush, Dmoz, Yahoo and BOTW listings.  It’s a great tool to sort through a lot of junk sites to find the ones you really want to use.

Step 3: Go to Market Place Search and Build Search System

The Market Place Search listed under the Finder tools is a great resource for sorting through sites on Flippa and a few other auction houses.  Although this tool doesn’t provide the same details as the Buy-a-Website Finder some of our members found it easier to use.  Either way, try out both tools and let us know which works best for you.

Step 4: Go to Broker Listings to Compare Sites

Is it worth the time to look at Broker listings when your buying sites?  Absolutely!  You’ll get a good idea of what sites can be sold for and you’ll start to see certain brokers that focus on certain niches or types of sizes or price ranges of sites.  You don’t have to work with the same broker for every deal.

In addition, you may find a site listed with a broker for $200,000 that’s netting $125,000 per year, but you know of three ways to improve the monetization of the site within 90 days that will increase profit by 50%.  The time spent looking at broker sites just paid off.

In addition, check out the Websites for Sale section of the Network Forum.  Here you’ll find updated listings of sites of interest and deals from members looking to sell.
