Day 5 – The Ant Quick Startup Guide

Step 1: Add Money Page and Monetization

Now is the time to optimize your money page and make sure all your revenue accounts are setup and working.  Don’t take this step lightly.  The money page is just that, where you make your money.  Take the time to review the pages, have others review the page and then have people test the page for you. Make sure everything is working.  When others are testing, watch what they click on and see that it’s what you were expecting.  If not, make changes before you go live.

Look in the Monetization Tools section of the 3rd Party Tools area for ideas on places to earn revenue on your site.

Step 2: Add Internal Links and Finish site

Use internal link building but don’t over do it.  Link from each page to other pages with relevant anchor text and links.  For finishing the site, just make sure everything is work.  Test the site with all browsers and mobile devices.  Can you see the pages, do the links work for the money page, etc.

You can test your website compatibility with the top four mobile devices and see how it is viewed with them using Gomez.com  Another site for testing is PerfectoMobile.com.

For testing with various browsers and some mobile devices use CrossBrowserTesting.com (although you pay for this one), or you can use BrowserShots.org which is free.

Step 3: Layout Marketing Strategy

As mentioned before, this course is not meant to provide all aspects of how to build and market a website.  That being said, we have outlined a few strategies we use within our Ant formula videos section.  In addition, you can find Traffic tools in the 3rd Party Tools section that we use as well.

Day 5 – The Dolphin Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Use Cold Call Technique to Search for New Sites Not Yet For Sale

A question we often get from Dolphins and Dragons is, “Where do I find the best undervalued websites?”.  The answer is easy: On your own!  You’ll find the best deals in places where people have not yet thought about selling their website and there are no other buyers to compete against.

You can do this with cold calling.  Yes, this is work, but as we’ve said before – this course is not a get rich quick with no effort approach.  Cold calling is the best method we have used for finding undervalued sites.  The good thing with this method is that you don’t have to do it all yourself.  By setting up your due diligence and scoring system you can hand the process of contact website owners to an outsourced person.  We’ve used agents from the Philippines and High School graduates who didn’t have any knowledge of the industry.  We recommend that you start by doing a few yourself so you get the idea and then train someone else to do it for you.

Depending on the amount of sites you are buying, you may get away with doing this process on your own.  We treat the individuals cold calling and scoring sites for us to buy as sales reps.  The more sites we bring under management, the more revenue we bring in.

Step 2: Run Sites Through Due Diligence System

Once you find a few sites people are interested in selling, along with those you are looking at from other channels, such as Flippa, then run them through your new due diligence system.  This process will weed out the emotion of finding sites that look pretty or you may have an interest in and give you straight facts and figures of what you should truly consider buying.

Step 3: Run Sites Through Scoring Model

The due diligence check was to weed out sites using a simple due diligence system anyone could run for you.  Now you want to take a look yourself at the site and score it based on the scoring factors you’ve outlined in your scoring system.  Develop a minimum score threshold that you will set to determine the sites you’ll look at making offers on.

Step 4: Run Sites Through Valuation Model

Now that you’ve found sites you’d like to consider buying, make sure you are getting a good deal by running a valuation check.  Use the valuation model you’ve created and get a maximum price you are willing to pay for a site.
